brakes on honda forman

hey folks i had no idea my 2000 450 forman had some kind o diff lock someone told me about it . but i dont know how it works or if this is true, does it work off the bakes or something can someone explaine it to me please and how it works thanks.

Not sure when they made the change, but the older ones have a pretty pathetic "open" diff.
The newer ones have a very nice mechanical torque sensing diff that is excellent (I feel absolutely no desire whatsoever to have lockers!). The bisas is somethng like 70/30, and it helps to reset it more quickly if you just tap the front brake (like when you have one wheel hanging in the air)....so that is maybe what you heard.
The question is, what year did they make the change in the Foreman to the newer design??? I can't recall, but I think it was 01 (????)...my 01 Rancher has it. A quick call to a dealer should tell you....
