The aluminum casting on the inside of the gears broke away from the kick start now the kicker just sticks. anybody with advice plz let me know we have a trip in 12 days, the dealers down here say they cant get it fixed before then! Please help! Thanks!

Get the broken casting out after you take the side cover off and get some riding in to make sure you are bulletproof. Get everything back together perfect. PM me if you need pointers or help. Push starting is a small compromise compared to not riding on the trip. Push start that 'ol girl and have a great time bro. See 'ya.

 

did you call the dealership to have them fix it? or to get the part? also, the casting you are talking about.. is it spiraled?
