Warrior valve settings
#1
I have a 1997 warrior that i got in 03 and i have never checked the valve settings on it. I know how to check them, but i am unsure of what the clearance is suppose to be. I know they have to be off i can hear them ticking while it runs. Also i was wandering if any of you had an idea if this is rings or valve guide seals....or both, on start-up it will smoke a little til it gets warm then when i floor it it will send out a puff of blue smoke. Any help would be appreciated.

blue smoke sounds like valves, compression shld be 9.2 i think lol
valves for sure are:
Valve,valve seat, valve guide:
Valve clearance [cold]
IN. 0.06~0.10mm
[0.00236~0.00394in]
EX. 0.16~0.20mm
[0.00630~0.00787in]

Mine used to smoke like that. I replaced the valve seals, it helped but still smoked and did not stop smoking until I rebuilt the top end with a new piston and rings.

Thanks a million guys. Just curious how hard is it to replace the valve guide seals, I have done chevy small blocks tons of times. Is it the same concept. And how far can you bore out a warrior.....safely.
