Default Brake Light

My brake light comes on when I use the hand brake but not when I use the foot brake. Is this normal?

i think if you look where your foot break cyclinder is you'll see no wires for them.

The hand brake hose runs down to a T fitting that splits off to the front calipers, and the rear caliper. There is a pressure switch in there that operates the light. The rear doesn't have anything to turn the light on.
