Default 2007 800 X2

I have a 2007 800 x2 deluxe, i was reading the manual and i got to the shock adjustment section and thought that it would be nice to stiffen up the shocks but i couldn't figure out how exactly do you make them stiffer. Can you help me make my shocks stiffer.
Thanks

you use a spanner wrench on the rear shocks to preload the spring to make them stiffer. no adjustment on the front.

Make sure to clean the mud out of the adjusters and take the weight off the suspension. Both will make life easier

yea even when you jack it up there not that easy to turn. i bought a wrench w/ my new one and it was still fairly hard to turn brand new w/ no mud.

My rear springs are very stiff even at the lightest setting. Front seems OK. I would like to try a differnt rear spring. Not sure what one though. I usually do not carry more than 350lbs total when riding the X2.

That is interesting. How many miles do you have on it? I wonder if it will loosen up after a while? I have the exact same bike and my back shocks are great. I would becareful of switching out the back springs b/c the stock springs are set up to have the extra weight of a rider or cargo up to 400lbs. If you put springs on the rear that are too soft, it might squat with an extra rider or cargo and make the front end lift just enought to not be able to steer properly. Just a though. Also, make sure it doesn't void your warranty.

I've also found that I don't need to crank up the rear shocks. I'm 350 and only get squat when I have another big passenger. Great setup for toting.

I have 650 miles on it. I sure would like to feel a little more travel out of the rear.
