2004 SPORTSMAN 500 HELP

I HAVE A 2004 SPORTSMAN 500 IT STARTED AND RAN OK GOT ABOUT A MILE FROM THE TRUCK AND IT JUST DIED IT WOULD RESTART BUT WOULD DIE AS SOON AS YOU TOUCHED THE THROTTLE I HAVE CHECKED THE FUEL SUPPLY AND THE IGNITION SW AS WELL AS THE RED ENGINE STOP SW AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING AND THE OTHER THING IS THAT IN ORDER TO GET IT TO RESTART YOU HAVE TO EITHER TURN THE KEY OFF OR USE THE RED SWITCH OFF AND THEN ON TO GET IT TO RESTART ALSO THE SPEEDO SOMETIMES TURNS OFF WHEN YOU HIT THE THROTTLE AND YOU HAVE TO FLIP THE SWITCH TO TURN IT ON

You might check your ECM switch. If your throttle cable is stretched you may be kicking the ECM switch. I think all you need for throttle play is about 1/8 inch if I remenber right. It might be a place to start.

you can try that but it seems to me that i dont think the etc would cause it to shut off and have no power to anything when uts activevaded and have to return the switches back on. if that doesnt work make sure all the connections are good and not corrorded w/ the diele. grease and the grounds are good as well. just a thought.

If your turning the key switch off or the Kill switch off BEFORE starting the quad again........................................It may be the Sure power module (Black Box)...........
Mine (2006 SP 450) has two Solid state breakers in there...........Which when mine went was shutting the quad off with the headlights on!!!...........Try starting the quad without the lights on(if they were turned on)
And get back to me....................I needed to turn the key to the off position before re-starting mine!!!............Caper.........
