Why pay over $100.00 for a speedo when you can get the same thing for $4.29! It looks alike and has the same features. Search in eBay under "bike speedometers" and you will find this model for $4.29 (item # 130165036502).

All you have to do is extend the wire a couple of feet with a thin two-conductor wire. I used the thin wire from an old cell phone charger. The speedometer is in metric (kilometers per hour) but just multiply the tire diameter by 0.61 if you want mph. To calculate an exact tire diameter, put a tick mark on the outer edge of the tire and mark the same location on the floor. Now roll the ATV so the tire goes one full revolution and put another mark on the floor. Measure the distance between the two marks (eg 164 centimeters). Next, divide this number by pi (3.14) which is 52.2 centimeters to get wheel diameter. That's all you need.
