A riding budy of mine has a 99 fortrax 300 that sat up for 4 years. He cleaned the carb and replaced all jets, float, needles, ect.. It will start up fine but runs very very rich. He has run the fuel mixture scre all the way in, adjusted the metering rod, and adjsuted the valve lash. Nothing he has done has made it fun any better or worse. My question is is it possible the cdi box has failed? I Work on honda cars but do not know much about atv's and their ignition systems. Any thoughs on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
