I have to grease my ATV again ,lift the bike ,take of the wheels and crawl under it like a monkey, I think there are like 15 or more fittings, My dads 97 has more because it uses u joints on the back lowers instead of CVs. The first time took me a hour to do the job now I have it down to 20 min.

 

Having not done this on my new 800 yet, I can only find 5 of them.

 

There are five on the new model Sportsman...front and rear a-arms and slip yoke on prop shaft..

 

what type of grease should be used on a 07 Sportsman?

 

Just keep it greased and it probally doesnt matter. The 07 X2 800 has grease fittings on the upper and lower a-arms and two on each front a-arm

 

My 2002 700 has 22, my 2004.5 500 has 3, my 2006 sp 800 has 7, and I think my buddies 08 has 5.

 

I use Wolfs Head red waterproof grease..

 

5 fitting ive seen. after a couple of times in the water i just use regual grease to push out the water. you could use a marine type grease which is more water resistint(spelled wrong i know) but helps keep the grease in longer.

 

I found 7 on mine. I use Polaris grease. 4 at the rear inner a arns two in the front and one on the rear of the drive shaft.

 

Not enough IMHO on newer ones. 7 total on mine I think. A-arm bushings wear pretty quick with no grease. Bolts have worked loose on mine also at lower rear arms. Never had those problems on my 99 with all those zerks.
