On my 03 350 Wolverine its much louder even with the quiet core..But with the stock exhaust my 03 sounded like a puring kitten lol,I am pretty sure with the quiet core my 03 is still under 100db..

I've got the HMF Exhaust on my '07 YFZ450. It is indeed much louder than stock, even with the quiet core in. It's a really nice tone though, and I think it's tolerable (I'm not one for real loud exhausts). With the quiet core out, it gets obnoxious.

Its too loud without the core, but sounds great with it. did seem to loose a little power down low, but I might need to re jet i guess?

If you haven't rejetted with your pipe, you'd better get it done before you ride it again! For sure you're running leeeeeeeean..

There is definitely a difference in power between having the quiet core in, and taking it out. I think with the quiet core in on a YFZ450 you're looking at about 97db or so. It's quieter than my friend's Kawasaki KX450 dirt bike.

Default HMF Exhaust with Quiet Core?

I just bought the quiet core for my HMF pipe on my wife's Raptor 350. It does soften the sound a bit but is still noticeably louder than stock. HMF rates their pipe as 100-102db (without) and 96-98 db (with quiet core). I am looking for a stock pipe right now so that she will enjoy riding more.

Good Luck.

Quad magazine had a review on the HMF pipe for the wolverine 450 in this months issue, and they said the same thing about the db ratings that Tripper said. Im not sure what the wolverine is rated at from the factory, but its quite a bit quieter than with the HMF.

Im running the HMF on my wolverine without the quiet core, and its pretty loud.....but not as loud as my 400ex with the white bros E series exhaust. It sounds damn good though, I dont regret it one bit.
