I have an x2 and with the passenger on the machine i can't seem to find the best spot to put 20liter fuel can. I put it on the front rack and im staring at it all day.
So im thinking of a hitch storage rack but im going to get stuck with that thing on the back.
Let me know what you guys have come up with.

i made custom made racks for the front and back to hold 2 1/2 gal cans and will hold a playmate(or what ever its called) in the middle.

20 liters seems like over kill to haul around on a ride,I carry a small (managable) 4 liter gas can and seldom use it on a 100 mile ride. The X2 has the large 6gal tank and EFI and should go well over 100 miles before it needs extra gas.

I agree with TLC. You should be able to get over 100 miles on a tank as long as it's not all slow and technical low range riding. Other than that I made a gas can box for my son's ATP to hold 3 gas cans that hold 2 1/2 gallons each. We've used it a couple times on work parties but not much else. The X2 is hard to build something for other than a box that goes straight up for hauling stuff. Look at the last pic on my page. I was going to make something for back when the seat is up but it would have too little storage. Another thought I had but did not do is to come up with a box that could be used for a gas can with the back seat up and the tailgate down. I just eyeballed it and it looked like you could fit a box about 2 feet by 30 inches or so. Just a thought.

I made a carrier for my sportsman out of 3/8" rebar and a few brackets that mount it to the back rack. I put a 2-2.5 gal can in it. It will also carry a cooler if I'm not carrying the gas can. There has been times that I actually hang a deer across it and partially on the back rack. It's dubed for many uses. I wish I had a picture of mine to post.

That is nice! I wish I had seen that earlier. When I get a little more free flow of cash I'll consider that for long outings.

Yea it's nice but not for 440 dollars. They are out of their minds!! I won't pay that price. Maybe 240 dollars.
I don't know about cool but I bungi cord a one gallon gas can directly behind my X2 seat that fits perfectly and a small soft cooler on the side of the seat in the box. I have a front rack bag that holds all kinds of stuff.

Okay is your X2 a dual exhaust? 500 maybe? Here is another idea. Check out Quadavator's gas tank
accessory that fits under the wheel well. Ohh okay after careful review its only the 1 gal. More ideas
anyway!
