Questions about a yfz 450
#1
A friend of mine has a 450 that he just got back out of the shop. He had a new local shop put a set of web cams in it. This shop has done other work on the quad but it is not runing right now.
I can hear that the valves sound like there out of adjustment.
What is the correct valve setting for this quad and how do i set it.
The quad runs up to 1/4 throttle thin it falls on it face and will not accelarate, but I can go to the next gear and it runs up to 1/4 throttle again.
This quad has a two brothers race pipe and head pipe, K&N air filter kit, athena big bore kit and clinder kit.
The carb was jetted to the big bore kit and the pipe. It ran fine.

The main jet may need to be changed for the new cams, otherwise, they probably maladjusted the valve timing. I would bring it back to the shop and tell them that they better fix it!
-Your title does not match your problem. A 125(I am guessing you mean 2 stroke mx bike) will out accelerate a yfz450.

if you need better help go to yfzcentral.com... that is where you will get the best help possible for a yfz!! i am not sure of the torque specs myself, but you should also have them do the cam mod on those web cams, it will give you a little more power. or if they tried the cam mod make sure they did it right..

Whats the deal with the shop? If you had them do the work they should be the ones fixing it.
