Default Polaris 500 sportsman efi touring

I am looking at buying a sportsman 500 efi 2up sportsman touring, is this a good bike, never had polaris before, had honda 400 foreman and the wife and I find it rough, we go all the time together so would this be a good bike for two? This is my first time on a forum so be patient please.

welcome to the forum. it would be like going from a 1 ton truck to a cadilac as far as the ride goes. the 500 engine has been around for ever and is pretty good on gas. most people seem to like it although i dont own a 2 up but their basicly the same.

Your wife will definitely enjoy the ride more on the Touring model, and I'm sure you'll love it. Welcome to the forums........post some pics when you can!

i sat on a 500 touring couple of weeks ago at a dealer. the 2up has about 6" longer wheelbase than the 1up. the longer wheelbase should make it ride even smoother the the regular sportsman

Only a problem if you clog the rad or don't keep it full!

I have an '07 X2 500. The only complaint is the comfort of the second seat. Polaris didn't have the Touring model in '07. I ride on the back seat from time to time and let the kids drive. I can only take short distances. I'm sure the Touring model is way more comfortable. Turning radius also increases with the slightly longer wheelbase of the X2 models. Great all around bike though. I love the turf mode!

I got my bike this August and rode it on hot days, never had a problem with it shutting off. Also, if you need help posting pics, email them to me and I'll host them for you. BTW, I just picked up a new ATV magazine off the rack at Walmart the other day, they did a test on the 500 Touring and nothing negative to say about it.
