I bought an 07 800 X2 polaris and got a v blade with the glacier II mount system with it. I installed the atv mount, and just yesterday decided to install the blade mount and see how things worked before the snow hit me in the face. I just can't seem to figure it out. I got so far on the assembly of the mount for the blade and the instructions just stopped. IT is the same in French or English. I have springs and eyebolts leftover and know where they go, but can't figure out how the mount goes on the blade. It seems not to fit. I called Polaris and emailed them, but they want me to take it 90miles each way to the dealer and bought it from. I called the dealer and he says they have never put one together. From the instructions, it is no wonder. The pull bar seems to get in the way. I think I bought my last Polaris accessory. The company seems to care less and wants only the dealer to figure out their screwed up mess. Does anyone have one or know or care about what I am having a problem with? I hope the dealer does not give me too much grief when I go back. Because I will make another trip and that will be to get my money back.

Hey, Caper, thanks for the heads up. Feel like I am all alone on this one, since my dealer is so far and has never done one. I did get a call from Polaris and they said I would have to work it out with my dealer. Like they don't get anything out of it. I have spent 5 hours on it already. I do have the atv mount on and the mount for the blade assembled, but that is all. Thanks again.

 

I just finished my installation last month. I've got the straight 60" blade, but it is probably similar. I still have all the instructions with 7 pages and 13 steps. What is your last page/step? I can scan and email the rest to you.

 

I have all seven pages and 13 steps. It ends with attaching the lever spring onto the locking arm. It says nothing about attaching the blade to the plow. Do you also have the Glacier II mount? The pull bar gets in the way when I try to put the mount onto the blade. I have no directions for this at all. I did bolt them together, but then the pull bar holds the mount at such an angle that I couldn't hope to attach the springs to the eyebolts. I thank you for trying to help though.

I am in the same boat as you and left off there when I finished with my installation. I didn't get any snow last year so
I didn't mess with it anymore. Here is a thought the middle mount piece "appears" like it would pop its end ear looking
ends onto the plate mount. You know the side one inch bars on the bottom plate mount to fit the middle blade mount
at those V-shaped ear mounts. My take is that they get forced on? Then you assemble the spring slide bar attachments
to the blade part.

Does this make any sense to you? And after we figure all this out (Good thread) lets send up PICS so we all learn too.
I will weigh in on the experts here but that was my take where I left off in the installation. I AGREE, the instructions
are much to be desired!

Yeah, I've got the same mount, but a different blade.

If you haven't already, mount the pivot to the frame then mount the blade to the pivot.

Then attach the eye bolts to the pivot.

Then attach one end of a spring to the blade.

Then it is a matter of brute force to get the spring onto the eye bolt. This is the hardest part of the whole thing. I think I used a heavy screw driver first without success and then I used a vise grip clamped hard on the end of the spring to stretch it down to the eye bolt.

Then do the other one.

I hope this helps. I can take a picture of mine if you want.

Edit - I agree. The directions are really bad. It's all coming back to me now.

I mounted the pivot to the frame. but can't get the blade mounted to the pivot. That pull bar is holding it back. If I tilt it back, I can get the bolts in the bottom sides, but then I am about a good 20 inches away from where the eyebolts and the top of the blade hold the spring. Does yours have a pull bar on it? Is that where the winch attaches to the unit? I have a bar on the backside of the blade and that bar hits the pull bar where it is bolted in.

 

Does your assembly look exactly like step 12 on page 7?

Or is your pull bar off at a wierd angle?
