Default !! Polaris NON support of Older Product's !!

Anybody had luck getting BALL JOINTS for prior 1989 Trailboss 250 4X4 (s).

I have two a 1987 & 1988 both nice --------- except for Ball Joints.

Any help would be appreciated.

The ball joints are a type that looks similiar to a TIE ROD END ------ not your ordinary Ball Joint.

Maybe this was a flawed design and Polaris is just pushing it aside.

This could help me make a decision on what brand not to BUY !!!!

Most don't stock antique parts, once over 10 yrs. old aftermarket.
I'm sure someone makes them.

Try 15/16/17/18 is this what you need? Steering assembly. If so you didn't look very hard.

No Rick Mine are 1987 & 1988 - <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://houseofmotorcyc...ike.....988/o/m5634
">"&gt;<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://houseofmotorcycles.bike...27-1988/o/m5634

&lt;br ">http://.....ike...988/o/m5634
</a>
</a>
</a>

---- with part # 62 under steering.

The 1989 year is when they changed the design to a BALL JOINT similiar to what is used on cars/trucks --------- the 1987 & 1988 were more like a " TIE ROD END " .

--------

I was thinking maybe of machining some type of adapter to use the -- 1989 and on type Ball Joint ----- but thats not a very simple project --- because not only devising away to mount BALL JOINT to the bottom of the front strut assemblies --- you also have to change the monting to the front lower A arms !!!!!

So thats why I've yell'd "HELP"

Hi jimmypsp700 , That is the BALLJOINT for the new style type.

The 1987 & 1988 Trailboss 250 4X4's I have require a BALLJOINT that looks like a TIE - ROD END !

Thanks for the info - I will probably ask them if they know anyone making them .

Can't you use one of these with a bolt through it?

Ah Ha Squirrelmaster ,
I was wondering about something like that --- one of my son's had mentioned something about hime joints or something like that ------ Thanks for sending that link.

That looks like a good possible solution.
