!! Polaris NON support of Older Product's !!
Hi ftwflh ;
The one is a 1988 TRAIL BOSS 4X4 - W888127 . Which used the different Ball Joint system.
My other Polaris is the same model but a 1987 and it to could use ball joints.
Look at : http://houseofmotorcycles.bike...mbly/o/m5634sch484745
---- under STEERING ASSEMBLY Part Ref # 62 .
Looks like it may have been a simple solution to building the suspension at that time -- but not the best approach .
We use these ATV's for touring around on our small farm - and so were not out cross countrying --- but we still enjoy them.

As long as you get the right thread count and bolt diameter I don't see why that wouldn't work. You can also do a search on heim joints on the web....theres lots of different styles out there, you may find exactly what you need. Good hunting!
