Default 04 700 EFI Fuel Pump not working

Ok I just started putting everything back together after washing everything. Also I did the upgrade bolts in the rear. After putting everythibg on (all Plastic) I went to start and I did not hear the fuel pump turn on. I have trace the wire that is on the top of the tank and can not find anything, is this the fuel pump or the gauge. I have a 2003 manual but there is nothing in there about EFI. Is there a fuse or where is the fuel pump located at? I have found the filter which I guess I will replace ( does anyone know an after market filter that I can get) it since I found it LOL!!!

I unplugged the wire that goes to the top to see if there is power and there was none. Is this the same wire that feeds the pump? There is a red with a black line, a Purple and a brown. From what I think the red with black is power and the purple is for the gauge since it goes to the pod and brown is ground. Doe sthis same lead run the pump?

Thanks for any info

Jim

the fuel pump is in the gas tank. when you have no power to the wires when you try to crank it?

When I turn my key just over I always hear the fuel pump like you do oin cars. With the key turned over there is no power to the lead that goes to the top of the tank.

when you turn the key on the pump should come just to pressurize the sysytem and then goes on and have no power to it until the bike starts. did you check the fuse? im reading the manual right now to try to help ya.

if you have an ohms tester you can unhook the fuel pump plug and test terminals A and C. if there isnt any continuity then the pump is bad.

I am not sure where the fuse is. Is the wire that goes on top of the tank where the fuel line comes out is that the wires that run the pump? If you would like you can PM or email me your number and I can call you.

So the wire that goes to the top of the tank which should be three wires. They are red/black, purple, and brown. I think the red/black is on one side and the brown is on the other. I will test for continuity in a minute, going to get the laptop and set it up in the garage so I can keep up with this.

Well after an Hour plus on the phone with Stendori this is what we have came up with. We think it is within the Relay. I could unplug the relay plug that powers the fuel pump and run a hot jumper to the red black and the pump fires and the bike starts. I just took out the relay and here is what it looks like. What do you think might of fried it? That is where the grounds hook up to it. Is there a way to test it?
