600 polaris sportsman quit running. I pulled a spark plug boot cap off and stuck a screw driver in it/grounded to clean area of bare metal on machine, cranked and no spark visible with lights in barn turned off....is there a better way to check for spark?

any help much appreciated...esp. on where to go from here. dont think its a fuel problem...stuck hand over intake, cranked and lots of fuel came into air intake compartment when I removed my hand.

 

Leave the in the wire boot , ground plug gap to head of motor and turn engine over to see if there is spark beteewn the plug gap.

 

if you got spark,get the old gas out and put in new gas also change the plug. and how TLC said to check is the best way to do it.
