Hawkeye mods for power?
#1
i just got my hawkeye about 5 weeks ago, and have run about 260 miles thorugh it and i love it no problems at all. this is my first ATV and i am 15 years old, so what are some mods that i can do to make it have more power? it will go about 45mph i think. what about lightening the clutch? does removing half the clutch rings or whatever void the warantee? what about the shocks? if i tightened them would it be easier to jump and maybe do a little wheelie? im new to the whole ATV thing, so any help would be great.

changing the clutch spring might help a little but remember its a hawkeye smaller cc not sure if your gonna get enough wheelie power ot of it? and as far as jumping i wouldnt be jumping any big jumps not really designed for big ones also thought i read on here something about frames busting on these so im not sure i would be jumping much.
im sure some of the clutch guru s can give you a idea of what spring might you might benefit from.

Not really the best choice for jumping and wheelies. If you don't need AWD, you might consider trading it for a sport quad while it's still in decent shape. There isn't much if anything in the aftermarket to help the 300cc Hawkeye motor make more power.

Why not ride it as is for a while then graduate to something more sporting? Nothing is worse than modifying something and eventually it gets to be a pain in the butt cause it dosen't run right.
I've had my Haweye about 2 yrs. , its stock, and hasn't given me a moments worth of grief. Besides, almost nothing available in the way of performance equipment. Modifying the clutch can give you more jump on the bottom end but usually you loose some top end.
What ever you decide, have fun with it and ride safe.

mongrol is correct just isnt a good machine for mods you have a nice machine the way it is better then most at your age just ride it and have fun after a couple of years graduate to a sport quad.

ya, just trying to make it more fun, lol! i have seen people do wheelies just on flat pavement, and im pretty sure they took out half of the clutch rings which gives you lots of bottom end, and jack up the suspension to a higher clearance. but does removing clutch rings void the 6 month warantee?
