Hawkeye mods for power?

ya, those weights are what i meant. i guess there are different names for them. i know you can wheelie it if you get on your knees and lean back. i guess it cant do this stuff cuz its soo heavy for its size. 550 Ib is alot for that engine. is there any way to tune for more top end or more bottom end?

The maker of that video is our very own RickeyParker. If you search the terms Hawkeye and Clutch in the Polaris forum you'll probably find lots of posts on this topic. I believe you can also search by author and find all of Rickey's posts. He has tried out a lot of different stuff on the Hawkeye.

FACT; The Hawkeye stock is approx. 17 HP.
If you were lucky enough to modify it to a 10% improvement, you would now have approx. 18.7 HP.
FACT; Performance costs money.
How fast would you like to go?
FACT; As performance goes up, usually parts start giving in.
Check with Rickey P. He said in a post that he rides his Hawkeye aggressively and has hurt it on occasion.
FACT; The Hawkeye is an entry level quad and has had problems in the past with the frame mounting tabs in the rear breaking.
Good luck with your project.

This is one of RickeyParkers posts along this line.
There isn't any balance problems with removing the two Opposing rollers, I've done it, as long as its balanced. Just a thought on a earlier post where the Polaris dealership got a Hawkeye up to 63 Mph. They added even heavier rollers than the 14 gram rollers and re-jetted and fixed that awful muffler that came on the o6 models with the 3/4 inlet and outlet. I put the calculator to it and if a person were to have 11.5 gram rollers and jetted it right,. The only word of advice is to use LOCTITE red on the nut when you put it back together or that nut will spin back off when it kicks back from deceleration. I've tried both ways with the rollers and its where the performance loss is. With those heavy rollers and if you put bigger tires on it, then you really need the 12 gram or lighter rollers or just remove 2 rollers and be happy. Use LOCTITE OR YOU WILL GET STRANDED with a very high revving slow moving quad.
Before you rejetl read my post marked TUNING.

i wouldnt be afraid to do it if it was mine in the world of china quads (i own 2) guys do it all the time because there are no real mod part available and have definite improvements i guess they got the idea from all them little buggies out in the dessert i read about on i think the site was buggies.com and it helped them things alot, like i said its a thought i have no idea i never did it to the one i have. but i feel if you dont go to extreme it wont hurt the machine and 30 bucks is a cheap mod.
