4 wheel drive on demand

Hi all, new here. Have a 2003 sportsman500. is it possible to manually put it all wheelor 4 whell drive all the time for snow plowing?? would like to find a way to be able to manually lock in the front wheel with a switch or somethin so i can lock and unlock them as i wish,, thanx,,,,,,Ted

It,s pointless even if you could, If it was full time AWD it would be almost impossible to steer (Like Full time Diff lock). Don,t worry it automatically goes to AWD when needed.
The way its set up now when plowing in AWD, is either all 4 wheels spin or none at all,can,t see how you can improve on that.

Hes talking about a way to have the front locked 100% of the time in AWD mode. Could you imangine how the steering would be with the front two wheels lock up all the time.

forgive me for saying but that would be stupid. even the full time 4x4 that hondas have are limited slip as you couldnt steer them at all. leave it along it works good the way it is.my .02

There is a simple but *** backwards way to do it. Put your smaller diameter tires on the rear and larger on the front. That makes the rears turn faster than the fronts and the sensor thinks the rears are spinning and locs the AWD in. Thats the way some of the Track Mfg's keep the Polaris locked in 4 Track drive.
