I was putting around this evening, following behind my friend while he was clearing some trails with a skid loader. all of a sudden my lights cut off and after a few seconds they came back on. I just thought it was weird at first. about 15 minutes later it did it again but this time the display went out also but it stayed running. I cut it off and sat for a minute or 2 and then cut it back on. everything came on as it should. what gives? what would make it do this?

 

Does anyone think it could be a bad wire(not making a good connection) Or maybe the stator going out?

 

don't thinks its the stator. I didn't have a chance to look at any wiring yet. its just weird that I was sitting still when it happened so I don't think it would be a connection being loose but who knows.

 

Hey, my buddy has a 2002 700 and it does the samething! Problem is I don't no why, so I am not much help to you. But, if you find the problem please post your solution.

 

the thing is i dont know for sure but didnt think the display had any connection to the head lights as it is on alll the time i think.

 

i use to also have this problem wiht my headlights...i solved it by splicing the wires together

 

it just wasn't my headlights it was the display also. I ran it this morning and nothing happened. a glitch maybe? I checked the wiring and all looked good. I'm gonna ride it some more this afternoon and see if it does it again.

 

Mine was doing this with the headlights and it was just loose wires under the seat. I used electrical tape and now they work fine. They would connect and disconnect when the four wheeler would start moving and that's why they would work and not work unexpectedly.

 

which wires was it?

 

Were you turning the handlebars when this happens?...........Caper...............
