Default 400EX Carb project

Hi. I have a 2005 Honda TRX400EX. I have removed and cleaned the carb (yea, old fuel).

Put it all back together and it does not run worth beans. Took it all apart andgian and recleaned. I never messed with any of the adjustments, so it should still be tuned correctly... right?

Anyway. did the digital camera thing and now I am still stuck. I;m on the thrid rebuild and I foregt way the Slow Air Jet goes in. It is under the plastic piece with the hose comiong out on the throttle side. Under it is a brass SLow Air Jet with two orings on it. Doe anybody know which way it goes it? It seems to fit both ways. Anybody have an diagram that shows the whole carb in an exploded view?

I ordered a rebuild kit. The Float valve has a wear ring in it that is probably not a good sign.

Any other ideas why it is not just firing up and running like a dream?

I'll try to find a picture and place it up on the web so you can see what I see

Thanks, Chris

That slow air jet is , i believe the mixture screw. Its the only thing which has 2 o rings. First thing to go on the screw is the spring, then the steel washer, then th esmaller of the 2 orings. The larger o ring goes way up by the slotted end of the screw, in the groove. Install it, and screw it all the way in, until it bottoms out. Dont be muscle man, just use 2 fingers, and lightly find the limit. From there, unscrew 2 to 2.5 turns out. That should be in the ball park.
heres a article with pics of the bottom side of the carb. The mixture screw is the brass colored srcew, just above(in this view) of the float bowl.
