Outlaw 450? 525? or KFX450
#1
ok, i'm looking to get a new fourwheeler for Christmas and looking for atleast a 450. to tell you the truth i was settled on the ltr450 but did not do it becuase it does not have reverse.
i do mostly trails, little sand, and once i get the new atv im gonna take it to the track a little bit.
I know this is the Polaris forum but in all honest what is every ones opinion about the KFX450 vs either the Outlaw 450 or 525? (which outlaw is better for my riding?)
thanks for the help

There are a lot of mixed reviews on the KFX450, so it's really hard to say. Some like a lot, some have sold soon after they bought it. Complaints are, to much bar vibration, very stiff suspension, Power on the low side, low geared, and seat as hard as a board, and being all aluminum it's one of the heaviest 450's. The Outlaw450 hasn't been out long, so not to many reviews. However, all reviews have been positive and it weighs the same as the KFX. The 525s is a monster on power, and for the woods, some have said to much. But in atvsport, they called the 525s there favorite as the power and suspension are unreal. It weighs 10 lbs more at 375lbs, but the fastest stock quad out there right now. And no one has dissproved it yet.

yea i like the looks of the kfx but i'm leaning towards the 525 right now. i just want something that is bad *** since i'm gonna be making payments on it. and since i do a lot of woods i like the reverse on it.
but i cant find any aftermarket parts for these things(outlaw). i def. wanna put exhaust on it and a ket kit, K&N airfilter and nerfs.

Personally if I ever bought a sport bike it would be the Outlaw 525 IRS. After my solid axle Scrambler I don't think I'll ever own another. I ride too much rough, rutted, rocky terrain and the solid rear end just got hung up everywhere. But that's just my opinion. There is a lot of aftermarket stuff out for the 525, but just google it and you should find lots of stuff for it.

There will be plenty of mods for it. A JD jet kit is the best, HMF, FMF allready have pipes and more to follow as the 525s just got released. Nerf bars ar not a issue. The same bars that fir the 06 Outlaw will fit the 08.

i'd rather go with HMF from experience but on the website they only have the slip ons...i really wanted to do a full system. but how long do you think it'll be until more companies come out with after market parts??

ive also herd the suspestion is very stiff of the kfx-450 and that is probaly because it only has something like 8.6" of travel where the other 450s have 9.5+ with the ltr-450 having the most at 10.6". i whould say the 525 is better for your riding because i think it will lug down a bit more on the trails. btw have you looked at the raptor 700. it is a great all-around bike. it does great in the sand and on the trails and does pretty dang good on the track. maybe not as good as the 450s but close. it is fuel injected and it has reverse. probaly better than than any of the quad you suggested on the trail because the engine makes alot of power in lower rmps. but out of all the bikes you picked you really cant go wrong.

i never really thought about the 700r. the weights are the same from that and the outlaw. but i've never really been a fan of Yamaha and my other bikes are polaris. but idk good suggestion though i'll look at them. and i like how there is so much stuff to add to the raptors unlike the 525's but i'm sure more stuff will be out in a little while.

The 525s is 21lbs lighter then the Raptor, has the same power, much larger gas tank, better skids, reverse on handle bars instead of fender, stainless steel brake lines, and has better tires and rims for less $$. The Raptor is nice, but you get more for $$ with the Outlaw.
