i went to the dealer yesterday to get a better look at them and i really dont know what i'm gonna do. i hate to say it but the yamaha raptor 700r is badass and is cheaper than the outlaw. but idk because i cant do anything until after christmas so yea it sucks.

 

Is the Raptor a 08? Because there msrp is higher. But remember, you get more with the Outlaw.

 

yea its an 08. but at the dealership they are running a christmas special on everything. and they were telling me that the 700r will get the 450 on top end but the power output is really close. and it has reverse so thats a plus. but the outlaw with irs they didnt have any when i went there so the guy is supposed to call me when they get one in. i gotta get a new job anyways if i'm gonna be making payments on wutever i get.

 

Ok, I have the best of BOTH worlds I have a 525 Outlaw IRS that I love it and my girl has the KFX450R so in short it is a EASY decision if you want to race mx tracks ALOT then get the KFX. I drive it a lot and let me tell you that EFI F'N RIPS and it can jump easy and is a blast to ride. HOWEVER the seat is very very hard so if you are going to trail ride get the Outlaw 525 IRS the KFX has solid rear axle and gets hung up EVERYWHERE we ride that has trails. BUT keep in mind that all the talk about dry weight this and that just from moving the both around the KFX is ALOT lighter than my Outlaw. So long reply EASY answer if you are going to race MX then KFX if trail EVER then 525 (that is if you dont have the money to buy the KTM quad!!!!)

Well, for the benefit of future searchers....

I decided to go with the KFX450R.

The Outlaw KTM engines have more power and more torque and have easy valve adjustment, etc.
But it seems like a bit much engine for the rest of the quad, particularly with the 525.
A 525 with excellent shocks ALL THE WAY AROUND would be awesome.

To me though, I preferred the total fit and finish of the overall package of the KFX450R.
