i have a 01 rancher it is a 2x4 manuel shift. it dosent have the fan like the es modle does. i do lots of low speed trail ridding with high rpm's to get me over logs. where could you by a fan like the es models? how much would it cost?
any comments are welcome.

I can't remember, does the 2X4 even have an oil cooler (much less a fan)?? One of the review articles suggested you just buy the parts and put them on. My fan comes on fairly often (Southern California). I see you are in Florida, so a cooler/fan might be worth the investment.

Hey dude, you need to go to your nearst honda dealer and ask for parts department and tell them that you need a fan for you atv, tell them the year make model, they will probly order it and then ask if you will put it in yourself or they will offer to put it in for something like 50$

I have a 4X4 manual shift, and it has an oil temperature light. The owners manual says if the light comes on, shut the engine down and let it cool. You never hear anything about this, but cooling must be a big deal with this engine. I don't think I've ever seen any other bike with an oil temp. light. I guess they figure the 2X4 won't be working as hard as the 4X4, so they left the fan off. But then, the 2X4 ES has a fan, so who knows.
