I have a Sportsman 800 X2... Down to the Glacier 2 system or the Swisher...

Does a mount work better for the atv when mount in the rear? or mounted in the front like the Glacier?

Which is a better system?

 

I dont understand how you would even plow going backwards. how would you control where you push it?

 

LOL Brutus the plow mounts to the trailer hitch. The G2 plow mounts up front. You will much prefer the G2. You lose 1/4" ground clearance and the plow lifts as high as the rack. I'm loving mine

 

I guess I mean that the swisher mounts to the arms and to the rear hitch ... and the glacier mounts to the front.

Which is better for the atv? Is there alot of downward push when mounted in front? Or does mounted it to the Rear really help out that much in the push?

I've been using my buddys Bomb 800 lately and it has a mount like the "swisher" and I really don't like it at all. It loses soo much ground clearance and the blade will not lift high enough to push over the banks. My G2 works soo much better.

Personally it's up to you but in my opinion the G2 is a better mount.

 

I just put a glacier 2 on my 05 sportsman, the thing is nice I dont loose any ground clearence with it off and the thing mounts and dis mount in seconds. And the thing lifts up almost 20 inches off the gorund. Even installation was much easyer than I thought it would be. I am glad I went with this system istead of an aftermarket plow I paid 450$, but I already had a winch.

 

Go with the G2 or the Moose plow you can't go wrong with either of them Moose has a new mount simeler to the G2
