mine is stock, i have about 30lbs on you, and mine goes around 55mph

 

I'm 127 lbs and run a stock '04 sportsman 500 HO. I get up to 55 mph. My Dad is 185 lbs and run the same bike and he gets the same speed. Body Weight doesn't seem to slow these beast down.

 

OK sounds about right then,with myself and son on it,and he is about another 145 and we was toping out a little over 55 so id say 55 must be about the speed... any clutching I can d for a little more speed? or any other little tricks,hunting is over right now so I want to play with it ,I know a bigger machine is the easier answer etc. but I have this one,and if anyone knows its you guys![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

my 02' 500 use to do 60 mph w/ the wife and myself on it. if you gain top end my changing clutching(dont think it would be much if any) but would loose take off power.imo

 

I guess im better off leaving well enough alone [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] 30 stock miles on an 2003 and it looks and feels it in ever way then I should just be happy, hears one more question for anyone still lookin at this thread now at 30 miles what should I be looking at for maintenance,I dont know where its at. whats been done etc. I know I checked all my basics oil,antifreeze etc. but its been years since Ive owned one! so Im lost on milage and what should be done at that milage etc. (no book) says it all I guess [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] the guy took care of "it" but no stock book,but had the tool kit,thats almost the opposite from everything Ive bought used [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]
anyway thanks guys for answering my numb questions....

 

i would change the oil for sure, its an 2003 with 30 miles on it, i would guess thats never been done, thats allmost 5 year old oil.......not sure about the other fluids......
