Trying to get my daughters quad set up for next weekend
Here is the problem: The quad wont start with out me chocking the carb with my hand then it will run for a few seconds and die. When its running its spits 2 stroke oil out the exhaust and spatters it everywhere.
What I have done: Cleaned up plug. Took carb apart and cleaned everything. Compression is at 150psi.

Is it just oil or is it raw fuel that is not being burned?? My guess would be that it's raw fuel not being burned in the combustion chamber. I would check that the plug is getting spark if it's fouled, spray some starting fluid on it and light it with a lighter or match then re-try to see if it gets spark. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Yeah I agree ... here, your wife will love this idea, ... bring it inside the house where it's warm and see after it warms up some how it starts ... it sounds like it's getting too much air not enough fuel. Common issue this time of year. Crank the engine a few times with the plug out. Clean it real good and try again but like I said .. warm the engine and carb up somehow. Good Luck.

 

Shouldn't be a winter issue. Its almost 70 degrees here in Imperial, CA. I will swap plugs out with new ones and update the thread.

 

While you're at it grab some of that 70 degrees and send me like 20 of it please. I'm gettin' cold up here in NW Oregon
