Default 1989 Warrior Hiccuping While throttling up.

I have an 1989 Warrior and it starts up fine and it will idle with out any trouble. When I give it some gas it begins to hiccup non stop. The only few things I could think of is some thing elecicle. I wanted to find out if anyone else might have had this problem and if so what they did. I know its not spark plug, that is new. Any in put would be great thanks.

When did the problem start? A common cause of hiccuping is a rich fuel/air mixture which means too much fuel or not enough air.

I can't really remember when it started, it just seemed to start doing it one day. I have cleaned the carb many times and replaced all the jets, still didn't do anything. And I have heard about the revlimitor, that had some thing to do with the parking brake right?? What do I have to do to test that. It no longer has the set up for the parking break on the left side.

When mine does that its usually time to change/clean the air filter. Ive also had plugs that were not in good shape anymore cause it, though thats way less common. If your using NGK plugs don't rule the plug out just because it has been replaced once. I had a box of four NGK plugs once that all went bad in less than an hour of riding each. Ive also had NGK plugs run forever but there seems to be no consistancy.

I wasn't aware that a Warrior (or any atv that old) had a rev limiter. If mine has one its set high. I've revved it as high as anyone who's not purposely trying to tear it up would go and no cutting out or lagging at all.

I think that you would know it if the rev limiter was kicking in. It wouldnt be revving any higher it would just be bouncing off the highest rpms.. I think it has something to do with the air/fuel mixture, as said above check your plugs to see that they are hot and the air filter is clean. also make sure choke isnt on..

Air filter is good, plug is brand new, was doing it before buying the new plug, got a new one just to see if that was the problem. I will have to adjust the air screw some and see if that does any thing.
