Adjust the linkage on your shifter to bring it farther up, making easier to get your boot under it.

What kind of boots? The full knee-high motocross boots suck on ATVs. You can't bend your ankle in them to shift. The half-boots work good on ATVs.

you can do those or you can adjust the straps on your nerf bars so you can get under it that way

Yup, just keep the netting a little loose on the nerfs. I have Fox Forma Pros and have no problem shifting with a stock YFZ450 shifter.

you can also just move the shifter up knotch also...it will make it easier to get under the shifter since the boots are thicker then regular shoes and boots

It still sucks with moto X boots..Even after moving the shifter up and the Wolverine dont have nerf bars,I had to stand up to get the boot under the shifter,Now I just ride with steel toe work boots with knee/ankle protectors ..works great..
