Scrambler left rear wheel locked up???
#1
I was riding down a long steep hill using the rear brake foot pedal. At the bottom I noticed the bike acting wierd. I was dragging the left rear wheel.
I've yet to fully check it out. Wanted to check in to see if there was any tips or suggestions.
The crazy thing is the bike can be pushed without locking up. But under engine power it locks up.

thats weird as its a straight shaft hooked together and to have the left side dragging w/out the right. i would have said bearing but if it rolls fine w/out any power to it and cant be bearings i would think.

The only way for one wheel to lock up without the other is to have a broken axle. If it rolls ok but under load it locks, I would guess the axle is binding under load. Jack it up and try to turn the wheels, then pull the axle and have a look.

Also the pedal brake seams to have lost pressure. Could be as simple as a stuck brake. Is the rear axle solid? because it sure isn't acting like one

i agree. may be just the break may be looked up. .....................shea.................

Seems impossible to only have one wheel lock up.
- Straight solid axle
- single brake controls the axle.
Seems like a broken axle. Don't push, pull or try to drive the quad, if the axle is broken you could damage the rear housing.
