Since no one answered my first quote, I am trying again.

How much oil does a 600 Grizzly hold, and what is the best kind to use?

Your Grizzly will take 2.25 quarts of Yamalube 20 W40 with a filter change which is suggested by Yamaha although I have had very good luck with Amsoil synthetic lubes.Either is fine just don't mix the two.Hope I helped.

88' 250R many extras

2.1 US quarts. According to the manual. But I add 2.25 when I change mine, like fivel250rman does. That puts it right at the top of the oil window. I've changed mine 3 times in 600 miles and it has never once gotten below the top of the oil window. I always use Castrol 20w/50.
