what exactly is the locking ring? is it behind the nut? and how to you move it? because on mine its just a nut and some kinda washer type thing behind that. then the sprocket. i've heated it and tried to loosen it, used a breaker bar...tried turning both ways....i dunno

The lock is behind the nut. You have to bend the tabs up then loosen the nut. The nut has regular threads. Someone might have it on real tight , so have someone hold the brake to help. Or use a air impact wrench that will break it loose.

now, by bending the tabs up you mean ? cuz like the tab is flush with the sprocket currently, should i bend it so that they bend towards the nut? an impact gun is the only thing i havent tried. and is there a specific gear i should have the tranny in? reverse, 1st, or neutral? yah sumone definatly put this together very tightly..lol
