Default New Griz 700 Cons

I'm looking at getting a new 07 or 08 Yamaha Griz 700. I can find lots of pros and hype on the machine. I'm looking for some cons and weeknesses of the machine, if any.

Are the 07 and 08 exactly the same?

Any reports of problems?

Are they as good as made out to be?

Cons?

Default New Griz 700 Cons

I got my 08 Grizzly 700 FI a month ago and this machine is unreal. It's real easy to get the front wheels off the ground. Hit almost 60 mph at just over 1/2 throttle before I got nervous and let off. Starts and runs flawless. Mine is stock with no mods planned. Smooth ride too. I can go on and on.

If you have any specific questions, just let me know.

Good luck with your decision...

I got 07 in Aug 2006 and loved it with no complaints. Then after one year on stock tires I switched to Maxxis Bighorns on stock wheels. The improvement in ride and handling was much more than expected. So IMO the only con with 700 Griz is the stock rubber.

Just try and find another quad with all the features the grizzs has. Mine will do 70 then the rev limiter kicks in.

Cons...

They still tend to run hot... especially if you go mudding a lot and mud covers the radiator...

You might need to change the oil to cold weather oil when running in really cold temps...

might need to replace the "roll over valve" that helps with ventalation to the gas tank if you have the "gas boil" problem where it looks like your gas is boiling. (this is replaced by the dealer for free)

Its still an overall awesome quad... and I'd own it over all of the other 4x4's...

Well this thread is going no where fast. Not too many cons with the Grizzly 700.

the reverse sending unit, has had some problems. Boiling gas issue and need 5-40 synthetic if you live in places that get cold or CW oil.
Other then that great bike
