2006 Honda TRX90
#1
This quad was bought brand new, my son rode it for about a year stock. This year for Christmas Santa got him a Pro-circuit pipe and K&n airfilter with precharger. I put the parts on and took the airbox lid off. The quad now stalls when my son goes from an idle to full throttle. This didn't happen with the stock parts on. Can someone tell me what is causing this? There is also no change when I put the airbox lid back on. Do I need to change the jets, if so what size? I contacted Pro-circuit who advised me to leave the jets stock.

breck,
You need to richen up the needle. The needle and needle jet are the components that primarily regulate fuel flow between 1/8 and 3/4 throttle. Move the e-clip down one or two spots on the needle.
Good Luck.

Hi, there is only one position on the needle on a TRX90 06/07. I would agree the needle needs richening up, but the only way would be to put a small washer under the clip to raise it up a little.
Good luck !

Great suggestion Quad Challenge, I did not know the needle did not have adjustment rings on it.
If that is the case then a small washer from your local hardware store will work just fine. Match up the washer size with the e-clip or in my situation another washer on the needle.
I had to do the same thing on the Chinese quad we had. I used very small brass washers from my local hardware store, worked great.

I realize this is an old post, but I have the answer to your question. The TRX90 is very lean from the factory. That's why it is so cold natured. When you put the pipe on you made it even leaner which is what's causing your problems.
Go to Powroll.com, they have a jet kit specifically for the TRX90 that comes with 3 jets and the washer for placing under the needle-clip. Use the 92 jet, anything more and you are making it too rich. The other jets included with the kit are for boring-out mods and such.
This cheap fix ($25) takes away the cold starting, and really adds to the horsepower and torque. Huge improvements all around.
Good luck.
