Default LT80 sprocket and chain questions

Looking to change both sprockets on an LT80, after reading lots of posts it seems that 428 is the way to go. Here is were I ran into some trouble. Where to get the sprockets without buyinh what seems to be overprices "kits" on Ebay. Any deas, interchange options etc. Thanks for the help. Would like 12/26 and a 13 front to see which works feels the best. Thanks again!!! Is a tensioner really needed?

I get my sprockets from Hetrick. Most any shop can get aftermarket sprockets.
Yes they get pricey. Last buch I got, I thought that I'd sell em for $15. They cost me 18+ to get em here.
I'll check to see if I have any here. I usually stock the sizes you mentioned.
FYI: I use #40 chain. It's like 15-25 bucks for 10 ft. and there is 1/2 links available.
A #40 chain will fit the 13/26 perfect.

You can get the steel front sprockets there.
I get the stock steel rear (26) from Zuki. I usually get the 12 front from Zuki but they don't offer the 13.
MSCdirect.com or a tractor supply for the chain and links.

Moose makes the front sprocket in several sizes for 428, they are about $18. I order them from Parts Unlimited through the local ATV shop, no shipping plus they usually discount them if you're nice. I order a 428 92 link chain for $8 with an extra master link and have them break it into two 44 link chains.

sorry for reviving this thread. but i want to keep info on the right page.

i heard to get upsized sprockets up to 12f and 26r at zuki.

now these are the stalk sizes from year 87-88 that you are ordering>am i correct?

these are interchangable to my year2003? is this right as well.

i called up both shops around here and its nothing but a bunch of young kids that dont know any more than me if not looking at a book or asking someone else. they said that their not sure if theyll match up spline wise, and all they can find is stalk 10-22 for me.
they are getting me frustrated. can i tell them to order me 87-88yr 12-26 sprockets and tell them to shove it, and it will be ok?

i went and picked up the 10ft of #40 chain today at tractor supply. couldnt find half links although i got a tensioner from hop ups so not worried about that.

I call my dealer and order the 1987/88 sprockets.
They indeed are a 12/26~ 428 pitch.
IMO, Some dealers just don't want to look thing up.
