TCS shocks, how much shorter are they for the Raptor?

CT Racing sells TCS shocks for the Raptor. They say that they are shorter all around and that it helps the Raptor in handling. How much shorter are they in the front and rear than stock shocks? Anybody know? And, will the TCS shocks work with the TimmyBoy a-arms or are they for stock a-arms only? Why couldn't a guy just buy some shocks that fit say a Blaster and make it sit lower?

I don't think the blaster shocks would have the travel that you would need. They did an article in dirt wheels on the modified raptor that had timmy boy a arms with tcs shocks. I think it lowered it an inch or two, not totaly sure though.

I've read that the TCS shocks with the Timmy boy a-arms lowered the Raptor 1 1/2" while attaining more wheel travel....somewhere in the 11 1/4" range...sounds like the way to go! I have also been told that the rear shock can be rebuilt with a TCS conversion to gain wheel travel and to help the quad sit lower. That sounds like the hot set up to me. Dirt wheels did an article comparing it to the DS 650 with some mods and they said the Raptor handled like a pro level race quad with the modifications. The MX circuit should be interesting this year!!

i got the tcs on the front of my raptor with plus two arms and had a conversion done on the rear, i sold the stock shocks so i can't realy compare them now but the raptor sits down an inch or two now . i wanted it to be slammed like my ohlins on my 310r so i called tcs and they told me to ride it for a while then do the adjustments after they break in, both the front and rear are ride height adjustable , and it rides like a dream,i rode a tcs equipped 440 ex fell in love with the way it handled and then i went home and called tcs and ordered mine, $750 front,450 rear conversion,you can get them cheaper if you shop around

one more thing, how much stability do you think the TCS shocks would add if you didn't get wider a-arms?

The TCS shocks for mine are actually an inch and a quarter longer than the stock shocks, not shorter. I have Lone Star +3 a-arms. So mine are for extended a-arms which brings the travel to over 13 inches. The TCS shocks for the stock a-arms bring the travel to over 11 inches. The stock shocks travel is around 9 inches.
How TCS lowers the quad is set the sag height to around 50% of the travel. Where the sag height on the stock shocks is set at around 30%. But the stock shock raises or lowers the sag height using pre-load on the stock which softens or stiffens the ride. So to lower the quad you have to take the pre-load off which makes the ride spongy. If you raise the quad you have to add pre-load which makes the ride stiff.
How they lower the quad is by using that extra amount of travel and using it to lower the ride while keeping the effective travel about the same.
You can adjust the sag height on the TCS shock by adding or removing spacers located under the gold spring.
I removed one of the spacers and it lowered the quad to mx height. But I discovered is not that great for trail riding after riding with Bash. I will have to put the spacer back in for the trails.
