Default Is a Vento Really a Polaris?

I found this ad on Craigslist and since I've never heard of Vento, I'm wondering what VENTO is? He claims it's the same as a Polaris? I looked at their website, but it didn't impress me. Does anyone know anything about the Vento brand?

I have a 2003 Vento Avalanche 90cc atv. It is the same thing as the Polaris Scrambler. The parts are interchangable, I had to fix a couple of things on it and used polaris parts off of ebay, they also have their own website with parts diagrams just like polaris does. (http://www.vento.com/) The plastics are faded and the battery is dead, it has electric start as well as kick start. Usually we just use the kick start. It does have a head light and brake light, will start up and run good even after sitting for a while. The only thing that is needs right now is for some links to be taken out of the chain. The original chain broke a while back and the chain on it right now needs to be shortened. If you know how to take links out or if you just ordered a new chain that is shorter, that is all it needs. I don't have pics today, but can get some tommorrow.

It is a great size for a 7-10 yr old. Big enough frame and tires, not as small as some of the new 110cc ones you see on here. The price is OBO, need cash quick so ready to sell asap.

Could be that Polaris is having someone else make their smaller quads. But I don't know if Vento is the company they are using. But I've seen a few ads in our area that the seller tosses out a major brand name when selling them. If you can get to a Polaris dealer, just look and see what is stamped on the motor. My wifes DS250 is supposed to be a Rotax motor, but it clearly has SYM stamped on it. According to a Can Am salesperson, they are manufactured to Rotax specifications, so that's how they get around it.

Thanks Stendori- that is good to know. I don't think I want an off brand and that "new" price probably says all I need to know.
