04 650 twin u joint

anyone ever change rear u joints do you have to pull the rear back to pull the shaft out

I did the front, just disconnect everything so you can pull the spindle away from the shaft then you can yank the shaft right out. I'm not mechanically inclined, and I didn't have much trouble.
