there are about 1400 miles on it. the plug is firing but no gas is getting to it. before it broke down it backfired a couple of times and was cutting out.

the gas is getting to the carb but it's not getting to the spark plug, at least I don't think because I tried it and then pulled the plug and it wasn't wet. I just replaced the spark plug and set the gap properly.

make sure your ETC is adjusted correctly, if all is fine there, and then i would go through the carb, maybe your floats stuck closed or something

try putting a little gas in the spark plug hole to see if it'll fire right up.

this may sound stupid, but how do you make sure the etc is adjusted right? I know its the throttle cable, right? i never really messed with it before.

okay i found out how to adjust the etc and did readjust it. there was more than 1/4" gap in it, so i adjusted it to about 1/8". the only thing is my battery is dead and i have to let it charge. i let you know if that did or not.

you should be able to pull start it w/ a battery in it even when its dead being the older style.
