Default new 07 rincon have questions

my only complaint in the 20 miles i have ridden it in the last month is clearance. thank the lord for skid plates.. i dont want to void the warranty so i am planning after my year is up to maybe do a lift and bigger rim and tire set( i am also 300 pounds of man so maybe a diet would help me as well). big foot kits and lift kits are all over but i cant find anywhere that says they wont harm your atv.I guess my question is are they harmful to my bike will it change my gearing to much? this one rides in rocky terrain and will be making hunting trips to co,wy i am envious of the artic cat clearance ..are there other options for better clearance and or stiffer ride ? i looked at even just adding bigger rims and tires but it looks like there would be rubbing issues

There are various lift kits and big tire kits that will fit. As you've probably noticed, though, the thing is geared pretty tall. If you run aggressive 27" tires, you might be wanting to do some performace mods and maybe one of the geardown kits... There is also a high lifter fender support that replaces the little rod supports for the front fender, to get more fender clearance. HL also makes heavier duty springs for front and rear.

Actually, High Lifter seems to be populated by a lot of folks who run lifts and/or big tires, so it might be worth your while to look over their forums, too.

On any machine more agressive/bigger tires and/or a lift will put more strain on axles, CV joints and U joints... so a person would have to be aware of the possiblity of more frequent servicing of those parts.

Some dealers seem picky about tires/lift for warranty purposes, and others seem to only make an issue out of tires if they are really extreme and if the thing you are trying to claim warranty work is a U joint... Check with your dealer to see what their thoughts are.

I've smacked my share of rocks on the Rincon, but it has more ground clearance than my Foreman, and I don't want to degrade the excellent ride and handling by making it much taller. I may run some 26's though when the stock tires are shot...

Anyway, welcome to the forum.

I would not go any bigger then 26s unless you are going to get some mods to make more power I put 27s 589s and they dint rub but lost a little power so I am going to stick with 25 on mine and I have seen some places selling a stiffer springs. Also I would check into full skids to save the under side as much as you can I know mine dont look very nice the plastic scid is also already cracked to good luck.

The factory plastic seems to hold up pretty good to the occasional smack, but if you are hitting rocks all the time a good set of alum plates would be a worthy investment.

I've pretty much always been able to pick a line where I don't get the Rincon hung up, but do occasionally scrape. A buddy has an AC650 and it is much taller, and is quite planted for how tall it is. The downside is that the ride is pretty stiff and the steering really fights you compared to the Rincon.

At some point I'll probably stick some bighorns on mine, but I'll probably stick with 25's. They seem to have a reputation for good traction especially in dry conditions and on rocks, and for being tough long wearing radial tire that rides and handles well.

Yeah, wearing out the stock tires made sense to me, too.

New tires are expensive and the stock ones aren't that bad, and that leaves more for a good GPS, bag, winch, nicer grips, hand guards, 3rd headlight...

A man of my own heart. these toys dont come cheap do they.. i had a buddy that sold his four wheeler so he gave me his bag.. its a cloth bag with the seat pad dark green like my rincon.. put it on all proud of it and i let my ten year old niece jump on to let her drive me around the block . i say to her just give it a little gas,, she hammers it, the rin just stands up and i hit the cement and break the fall for her.. no one was hurt but the two back straps to my bag broke and the back rack was scratched up, life goes on and we walked away...i like your camo rincon,, great pics,, appreciate your time,,
