Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and have just inherited a 98 sportsman that has been sitting for the last 4 years. The over ride switch seems to work in reverse in all gears ie when not depressed the motor is governed and when depressed the motor reves freely. I'm assuming its in the wireing, any ideas and or has someone out there got a wireing diagram.

Welcome to the forum Bob. I'd like to help you out but can't really tell from your description what's going on. If your problem is with the rev limiter you should be able to disable it by cutting the gray/orange wire that goes to the speedometer (for diagnostic purposes only, hehehe). Hope that helps.

 

Thanks for the quick response, but thats why I need a circuit diagram, as I have no wires going into the speedo! My bike won't rev in any gear unless the o/r switch is depressed. Maybe the reverse sensor is jammed on? any other ideas. Cheers Bob
