Default Tire Pressure

I have an 02 Blaster.
The ties say inflate to 31 lbs., my buddy says that's way too much.
We mostly ride trails in the woods but sometimes a mx track.
Is he right? He's saying 10 to 12 lbs...?

31 lbs is only to set the bead. 10-12 is still too much. i run 5 in the front and 3-4 in the back. you want the tires to dig into the ground for better traction. i have never seen a quad run tire pressures at 10-12 lbs.

I ride, because football, basketball, and baseball only uses one ball!

As you can tell I'm quite green at this stuff.
The tire should tell you that! Atleast my buddy was in the ball park.
Thanks for the input!
