2000 Scrambler clutch engagement RPM?
#1
I'm poppin my cherry! I recently bought a 2000 Scrambler 500 & the clutch engages @ a higher RPM than I'm use to. I had a 98 Sportsman & when u gassed it it went. The Scrambler needs 1/8 to 1/4 throttle to engage. The last owner said the clutch was not stock. Should I be concernerd? It engages at the same time FWD & RVS & pulls fine from there on out. Leave it & try it or ? Thanks!

you should've asked him what he had in it for a clutch kit or differnt springs. if you dont like how high it is then its an easy fix by changing springs once you pull the cover off. ask ftwflt what the stock set up is and he mostly can help you out since hes delt alot w/ his scrambler.

Pull the clutch cover off and let me know what color of spring is in your front clutch.Should be blue with green. If you want stock clutching drop me a pm.

So I finally pulled the cover and looked at the clutch. The spring is silver. This is stock? I took the scrambler out last week and did some hill climbing. It seemed as if it wasn't hooking up fully at higher rpm's. Could this be the buttons I've read about? Should I rebuild the front & rear clutches? Thanks

Is a silver spring stock for the front? I just replaced my secondary clutch buttons, any recommendations for the spring setting? I've seen 2-2 while researching. Is this OK for fast trail riding? Thanks guys!
