Default Got the Vbike 150 utility together and running

Well I got the 150 together and running. Had a few snags on the way, but of course. First, the battery was DOA. I filled it with the electrolyte, let it sit for a half hour to let the acid soak into the plates. Checked it with a volt meter and it only had 10.8 volts. This was a bad indicator already, as they should be up to at least 12.5 volts without being charged yet. Stuck it on the charger for 4 hours, took it off, and still the same low voltage. I,ll give Tim at Vbike a call Monday I'm sure he will take care of me.

The Vbike 250 donated it's good battery to the 150. I cranked the starter on the 150 and it came to life on the first couple of cranks. I looked for a choke lever but I discoverd that it has an automatic choke system. Man this thing purs at an idle.

I found that the 150 engine vibrates more than the pretty smooth running 250. No biggy though. With the automatic tranny it seems to have good low end torque.

I was fiddling with the hoses and wires from the handle bars and found out that the hydraulic brake line isn't very flexible, oops. More force is better to make something fit, right? Not. I snapped that puppy, and brake fluid started running down the line. I created a self made problem. Kinda irronic, I now have two ATVs with no rear brakes. Didn't stop me from test ridding both though.

Ya know bren7176, the 150 actually is a little larger than the Vbike 250. I saw the dimensions on the Vbike web site and I thought na, it can't be bigger. Sure enough got it together and the pictures don't lie.

It's actually kinda fun to ride. It feels like a full sized utility ATV but just a 150 engine. It's interesting though because that little 150 has plenty of low end torque.

The 250 looks awsome. I only test rode it once because I had to get busy putting the 150 together. The ride that I did take on it was impressive. The 250 engine feels alot smoother than other Chinese Quads. The ride was good to. I didn't want to ride it to much with the factory oil that came with it though.

I need to get the rear brakes fixed on the 250 yet. I bleed them yesterday but there is something wrong with the rear brake master cylinder. I will call Vbike today, I'm sure they will get me squared away.

I will change the oil in both ATVs this week and then get some more ride time in. Time, talking about time, having to go to work sure gets in the way of getting these Quads up and going the way I want them.

Those 150cc's are very surprising arent they. And they look good to.A buddy of mine purchased one of those 150's for his daughter and she loves it .
Hope you get your brake issue resolved soon.

My wife hasn't rode the 150 yet but she does like the way it looks.

I figured out the 250 rear brakes finally. I disconnected the brake pedal from the master cylinder link and discovered that the master cylinder piston comes out alot more than the pedal would let it travel. At this point I used a pry bar to pump the master cylinder the full stroke and then cracked the caliper bleed screw. I did this a couple of times and now I have rear brakes.

I guess for future reference I will remember to disconnect the rear brake pedal to bleed the brakes if I need to.

Hey outofline,
Well I think that your review on this prototype is correct.I would think as much effert that jet puts into their bikes that this prototype would be a lot more eye apealing then it is.
By the way good to here from you.Havn't seen you post in a while.

Hey KMan, and everyone else, just thought I would pass this link along to you for the GY6 engine that you have in you Roketa 150. It has the complete Service manual for the engine/tranny combo. The manual will work for just about anything that has the 150 CVT in it. The manual is for a buggy application but the 150 CVT is in the buggy. GY6 Service Manual
