hello , just a quick question. IVe got an 05 rancher 2wd thats got a blown engine and tranny. A friend of mine has a wrecked 03 rancher 4x4 but the engine and tranny are good. He will let it go for a decent price and from what Ive looked at the conversion will work. Any ideas or thoughts? will it work?

 

The motors are completely different. The 4x4 one has complete different low end than 2wd because it is All Time 4x4 it has full axles and transmission gears for a 4x4 inside of it, it runs through all components, unless u just need top end it wont work.
