Default aftermarket govenor for my atv

I have been looking around and have not found an aftermarket govenor for my atvs. I have had many newbees running my trikes and in need of reducing the max rps of the engine in order to keep the engine from blowing up / going too fast. yea, call me a sour puss but when kids get on they just know the throttle is to make you go faster. They are too young for the shifter lessons yet, and like most youngsters never listen to us ATV jockies.
I just want something to wire to the kill switch or similar to reduce over rev-ing of the engine.

You can get a remote kill switch and wire it in. I've seen them on ebay. As far as a govenor it would be easiest to do it at the throttle. Modify the throttle housing or lever to restrict the travel so they cant over rev. Like the screws on the kids ATV throttles.

i have that on my 70. it is hard to get it set and be able to start the trike. Also I can get it set but when running down a flat it can get the revs up there. and then not enough power to climb the hills. thanks
that is why i was looking for something electronic.

I had the same problem with my daughter. I know what you mean. I ended up purchasing the aftermarket kill switch from ebay. The best thing about the switch is that you can use it to control speed.
Here is how I did it. Hit the lock button and the vehicle slows down because the engine shuts off and hit the unlock button and it will bump start. I found this out by mistake. It could be a little jerky, it depends on how long you wait to bump start it. But besides the throttle limiter, I used the 3built remote kill switch and have had no problems.
Everyone's fear is that you kid crashes and he or she does not want to get back on it for a season or two. It happened to my friend. His 4yr old took a slow spill on a turn (grass using a LT50). He did get back up and on the bike that same day and continued to ride but the next time we went out his kid did not want to ride. He remembered the tip over and he does not remember getting back on and ridding. So now my friend is back to square one and trying to get him to ride by himself. Six months now and all he wants to do is ride with his dad on the back.
