Default ATC 250r axle question

Hi everybody just joined and this is my first post, I have a durablue axle for a 86 ATC 250r and want to put it in my 85 250r but am unsure if there would be a problem in doing this? I have looked in my manual and know the bearing carrier has some difference between the 2 years but cant think of what would be different on the axle. Unless its just the sprocket hub because the sprocket bolts to hub differently 85 to 86 ????? I ask because when buying an axle 85 and 86 part #s are not the same. Thanks for any help!

Buy a Clymer manual for it. They are much more thorough than the Honda manuals. Ebay has them relatively cheap

I sent you an email on 2 different auctions on ebay and denniskirk has them. I think someone is trying to get one for free!! Not anymore. Maybe in the early 1900's you could!!
