Default what quad to get?

i am a new rider and i am not sure what quad is right for me, i am 6'2" and 190lbs. i like to go fast and race my buddies, but we will also be doing some trail riding and stuff. i was looking into the yfz450,660 raptor or 700raptor. any input would be great. i am also wondering how much maintance they are, i herd the 450's take alot of care? and whats the easyest to mod? thanks alot

If your new to riding i would stay away from the yfz either of the raptors would be a great choice. They're alot easier to ride and maintance wize they don't take much. i have a 05 660 and i havent had any troubles

Menthox, you said that you ride trails? Go with the 700. All the way. The YFZ 450 does best what it was made to do: kill on the track. It's temperamental with riding slow; it's all or nothing with this quad.

The Raptor 700 was made for trails and track. Get a newer 700 as it has the better suspension on it. It's a lot easier with going slow and being anywhere off-track.

the raptor 700 is one sweet quad. just like everyone else said if your going to be trail riding the 700 will be much better and the yfz450 will be better on the track. the yfz need a little more maintance due to higher comp and the cam design

I don't know alot about the raptor 700 but know a little about the raptor 250 and 350. The 700 would be the best but it is so expensive. Another thing is that you said you were kind of new. If thats the case.... go for the 250 for $5,000 less. It's got 5 speed wet clutch. The reason again I don't say the 300 is b/c it is not as fast. The only atvantage with the 300 is the Reverse and the 4X4. Besdies i heard from another fourm that it is also slower. I know the 700 would be awsome but do you want to honestly want to pay around $9,000 . The raptor 250 is only $3,999.
I don't know b/c it is up to you but if it were me.... i would go with a yamaha. I have had yamaha's all my life and they never broke. It is up to your decision but i say go with a yamaha.

9000? i got mine new for 5600....i did go in looking for 2 quads but that whould not make that much of a difference though.

the 250 is a good bike but not for a adult male.....most of us whould get really bored very fast.
